Don't you simply love freebies? I know I do.
I've been in two scenarios recently as a customer, when I got an unexpected freebie. Right after ordering my bagel and coffee at the Bagel Bar, the girl behind the counter offered me a bottle of mineral water for free. I was going to order a glass of water anyway, so this came as a welcome surprise.
Some days later, I went buying a steak at the meat section in my nearby supermarket. I was having a chat with the guy at the cashier about the point that there didn't seem to be a lot of meat for so much money.
He obviously took pity on my unhappy face when he said - "Tell you what sir, why don't you have this other steak for the same price" and he added an extra steak on top!
So what's the customer service lesson here? The lesson is that most of the customers like a freebie and if they get one from a supplier it creates a positive relationship. And when people order stuff at your online business, on the download section, give them unexpected freebies and they will love you for that.
As customers, we're likely to come back and do business with people who give us freebies and we're more willing to tell other people about our positive experience. It's good technique to give your customers freebies at times but don't over do it. If you blast your email list with gifts on daily basis you are likely to miss the objective and your internet marketing business is going to suffer for it..
One day I read a story article about a restaurant owner who would at times give people a free meal. At the time when a group of diners or a family asked for the bill he would suddenly say that for this meal, they were his guests and they have to pay nothing for their meal.
Can you imagine how these people felt - what they told friends and work associates the next day? That free meal most likely cost the restaurant owner a lot less than advertisements in the city newspaper and it also brought in a lot more new customers.

And while we're doing it - why not try the same method with your staff. Even your private relationships - a small unexpected surprise or an act of kindness can do miracles for any relationship.
Believe me, once you start doing this, you'll have a lot more happy customers, happy staff and appreciative friends. It will definitely help your internet marketing business to grow stronger.
