Refine Your Golf In The Notorious Golf Valley -Golf Accommodation

The Mijas Golf Resort is placed just half an hours drive from San Juan airport. Take the Fuengirola Coin turn off from the motorway and follow the road named Camino Viejo de Coin. The course is about 3 and a half kilometers from the motorway.

Mijas Golf has made a great effort to answer the needs of its numerous golfers who wants to play golf in Malaga on the Costa del Sol, and to that end, the course includes all facilities. There is a practice area, buggy rental, manual and electric trolleys, putting green, places to get a drink and a bite to eat, shop, dressing rooms, bathing facilities and parking facilities. In addition, running throughout the grounds, there are places to buy water and other drinks plus toilets. There is also the choice to participate in golf technique lessons.

Mijas Golf Resort offers two Golf Courses:

Los Olivos founded in 1983/84 & Los Lagos founded in 1976. Both courses are designed by Robert Trent Senior. The main thing that distinguishes Los Olivos from Los Lagos is the amount of trees - hence the name - and its smaller size, as well as fewer water hazards. The greens are smaller, undulating and well defended. Although both are the work of the same designer, there is no doubt there are interesting differences between the two courses: if Los Lagos are based on challenges of water and sand, Los Olivos is strategic narrow tree lined fairways and elevated greens. Generally the course caters for the precision golfer rather than the big hitter.

Los Lagos is a ground course with wide fairways and a few forest trees obstacles, but is defended by many bunkers and nine lakes, from which the course gets its name and which easily trap the ball. It is a course with soft movement and large greens. You could say that the American designer intended to present a course especially for amateurs, but at the same time, it can present a challenge for the best players. One of "Los Lagos" most characteristic and demanding holes is the par five thirteenth. Seen from the elevated tees it appears deceptively easy but at the approach to the green there is water left and right, also beware of the incline as even a good shot is in danger of sending the ball into the water. The 5th a 571 meter monster, is also "interesting". The course is nearly free of rough and is almost flat except for a insignificant incline up the 18th hole.

There is an excellent choice of restaurants and bars within the golf resort, whilst the nearby town of Fuengirola also offers a range of restaurants, along with a cinema and various shops.

The delightful white village of Mijas, legendary for its donkey-drawn taxis, sits high atop the mountains with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and several municipalities of the Costa del Sol below. Within just a ten minute drive you will find some of the best rated beaches you can imagine, providing the ideal setting for peace and relaxation.

When you are not golfing there is no need to be bored as the Costa del Sol offers more activities than you can possibly manage & your Mijas Golf Villa offer pleasurable relaxation by the pool.
